Kirsty and I first met through her parents who resided in Taupo. They were regular guests at the cooking schools we once ran (mid 1990's) being passionate foodies. Throughout the past 30 years we have followed Kirsty's creative journey with interest and are now a proud stockist of her pottery.
She has been a creative professional for over 30 years and has worked in a range of interior, fabric and graphic design before establishing her pottery studio in 2017.
Her work reflects her love of the creative process, she draws inspiration from the patterns, shapes and textures of the natural world. Every aspect of her design process is carefully considered. Particular care is taken with more subtle, tactile qualities that make using something as simple as an everyday mug feel just right. As an enthusiastic cook and host herself, she appreciates the difference a set of beautiful plates or a serving platter can make.
Originally from Taupo, Kirsty has worked all around Aotearoa, as well as in Europe and North America. She now lives in Eastbourne, Wellington.
