Yvette van Raders | Nut Bowl | Shino
"I throw pots using a rough textured stoneware clay. Surface decoration is done using a combination of loosely applied slip, wood ash glaze made from trees grown on the property, and celadon glazes. My focus is mainly on earthy sophistication, simplicity and function. I live in coastal Tirohanga, Opotiki, New Zealand. My favourite place; my studio, a small light building just outside my backdoor. It overlooks the Pacific ocean on one side and a Macrocarpa forest on the other." ~ Yvette Van Raders, Potter
